Preventive appliances for teeth clenching and grinding habits are specially prepared for the patient by the dentists. For this night guard, the measurement is taken from the patient, and it is made specifically for the patient. The apparatus or plates used for the prevention of clenching must be rigid.

Those who use bruxism apparatus and night guards should wash their guards well with a brush when they take them out in the morning and store them in a clean container. Worn out guards should be replaced with new ones.

There is no medicine to treat bruxism. It has been observed that these habits of patients with psychological problems may decrease after using antidepressants. But no medicine treats this habit. Botox application to the chewing muscles can reduce the severity of clenching.

Medical specialists think certain circumstances induce bruxism. Sensory stimulation may cause sleep bruxism. In response to stress, worry, or rage, awake bruxism may occur. It can happen during focused work.

Minimal teeth-grinders don’t need therapy. Treatment is needed when grinding or clenching causes damage or pain. A dental splint or mouth guard will usually protect upper and lower teeth from harm.

Serious instances require greater action. Dental treatment may repair damage, relieve tension, and relax muscles. Botox may benefit those who haven’t responded to conventional therapies. Self-treatment can work. This includes reducing stress, limiting caffeine and alcohol, and receiving assistance for sleeping issues. Regular dental visits are also necessary.

Your dentist can recommend a bruxism mouthguard. A ready-made dental guard is unlikely to fit adequately. Your dentist produces a personalized guard from a mold of your teeth to guarantee perfect fit and alignment.

A bruxism mouth guard should be composed of heat-cured plastic or acrylic. Some patients prefer a gentle guard, while others need something firmer. More severe bruxism requires a sturdier protection.

    Bruxism

Bruxism, the problem of teeth clenching is very common in our society. People reflect their daily stress by clenching and grinding their teeth, usually in their sleep at night and sometimes in the daytime unconsciously.

Clenching and grinding of teeth cause abrasions and fractures in the teeth at the beginning and jaw joint disorders in the later stages. If bruxism is not treated, it causes problems such as pain as a result of the abrasion in the jaw joint, noise when opening and closing the mouth, locking of the jaws, and inability to open the mouth. Methods such as night plate, splint, intra-articular injection, Botox application to chewing muscles are used in its treatment.

Teeth Grinding in Babies and Children

Teeth grinding in children usually begins when milk teeth erupt and increases between 7 and 11 years of age. Bruxism is considered normal at these ages when the transition from primary teeth to permanent teeth occurs. The wear on the teeth that occurs during this period disappears with the placement of the permanent teeth. Intestinal parasites or other systemic factors can also cause teeth grinding in children. It has been observed that bruxism accompanies sleep disorders in children with attention deficit disorder. According to studies, psychostimulants that affect the central nervous system are responsible for the development and emergence of bruxism in hyperactive children receiving drug treatment.

I would like to share my views after about 3 months of treatment. First, I researched many countries and spoke to many clinics.

      5/5

The clinic we went to for my fiancée's wisdom tooth extraction was so hygienic and sterilized, similar to the Covid days. The staff welcomed us with smiling faces, and the attention of the employees & the workmanship of the doctors were all perfect. I really recommend this dental clinic for anyone who wants dental care.
